ANY IDEA WHO SAID THIS? “I love voice texting. I can't spell so I voice text.”

BRAIN TEASER: Only two players have ever won the Quicken Loans National multiple times. Can you name either player?

COMING SOON? Following the introduction of Titleist’s new TS drivers at the U.S. Open and Travelers Championship, the company reported it will continue the Tour seeding and validation process at this week's Quicken Loans National.

The new TS2 and TS3 Fairway Metals are the latest from the company that Tour players will be determining whether to put into play immediately. According to Titleist, performance validation for the new TS Drivers and Fairway Metals will ramp up over the coming weeks across the worldwide professional tours.

BALL GOES TOO FAR: For the first time since 2011, the scoring average for each of the four rounds at the 2018 Travelers were below 70. Below find the scoring averages for the past three years of the event. Decide for yourselves whether this is additional fodder, either way, regarding the skill level has changed at the elite game due to distance increases.

WINNER’S CLUBS: Bubba Watson claimed his third Travelers Championship title (2010, 2015, 2018) and his 12th PGA TOUR career victory in his 288th TOUR start. The 39 years old is one shy of Billy Casper for the most Travelers Championship wins (1963, 1965, 1968, 1973) in the history of the event. He shot 63 and wasn’t the lowest round of the final day. That belonged to Stewart Cink (62), who finished T2, three shots back of Watson. “It's been an amazing ride. My whole career, but this year has been outstanding,” said Watson. “Coming into the final round, again, I was just trying to play for position. I think I started the day 8th maybe. I'm not sure. I wasn't thinking about winning. I was thinking about just playing golf and trying to move up the leaderboard. Then on the back nine, when I chipped in on 10, I made a putt on 12. Made a good putt on 13, par putt on 14. Then when I made the putt on 15 is when I realized I had a shot at it. With the weather signs going up, I could see the weather was going to come in. The wind started picking up, knew it was going to be hard to make birdies. So I figured if there was a way I could get one more, and that's really what I do. I just hung on and had one on 18 to jump out there to a one-shot lead and made it tough on him to finish or the other guys to finish as well.”

Watson earned $1.26 million with the victory and announced he would donate $200,000 to Hole In The Wall Camp, the primary charity beneficiary of the 2018 tournament. Here is what Bubba Watson had in the bag to win the 2018 Travelers Championship:

WHO IS HE? It’s safe to say that, from a distance at least, not many people in golf are quite sure what to make of Bubba Watson. He certainly has a “love him or hate him” sort of image. You have to take the time to get to know him. There is some effort involved. I took that time and made that effort, to the point where I realized that I really liked him. I defend him to anyone who doesn’t feel that way and I really enjoy playing with him, whether in practice or competition. READ MORE>>>

A NO, NO? As multiple outlets report, rules officials approached Bryson DeChambeau about the device after Saturday’s third round. “They said we just want to let you know we’re investigating this device and seeing if it’s allowable or not,” DeChambeau said, per those reports. “It wouldn’t be the first time this has happened.” READ MORE>>>
