ANY IDEA WHO SAID THIS? “To get to world No. 1 is unbelievable. It's something I can say now in my career I've been the best player in the world. I've been to the top of the game. That's definitely some consolation. I just wish I could have enjoyed the moment maybe. This just slightly dampens it. But tomorrow or the next day, the week after, I'll look back at this and think it was amazing, an amazing moment in my career.”

BRAIN TEASER: What was the final score of the 2016 Ryder Cup?

A NEW DADDY: The new product caravan continues despite summer setting for 2018. Callaway has announced the introduction of its new Mack Daddy 4 Tactical mackdaddyWedges. The latest features a new aggressive look with a tactical PVD Finish, black PVD Face and black medallions. It incorporates Callaway’s proprietary Groove-In-Groove Technology. The main grooves are saw-cut and horizontal milled. The lower lofted wedges (50* and 52*) feature a 20D groove for consistent spin on fuller shots, according to the company, while the higher lofted wedges (54* and above) feature a 5D groove for control out of the rough and around the green. The 16- groove configuration includes Callaway’s extra “Nip-It” groove near the leading edge promising added control, especially on short shots.

The Tactical package also includes a limited edition Black Tour Issue Shaft and Lamkin Tactical Grip.  To honor our armed forces, a portion of the proceeds for Mack Daddy 4 Tactical will be donated to the Birdies For The Brave Foundation, a national military outreach initiative.

Veterans can verify their eligibility with ID.me and select "Military Discount" while shopping on callawaygolf.com to receive 15% off. There is also a dedicated Callaway URL for these military discounts.

The Mack Daddy 4 Tactical Wedges will arrive at retail on September 21st at $179.99 each,

EXCEPTION, NOT EXPECTED TO BE THE RULE: “You had all four major winners being free agents. I don’t think you’ll see that again,” Keith Sbarbaro, senior vice-president of tour operations for TaylorMade told Reuters. READ MORE>>>

WEB GEMS:

NOT WHAT HE EXPECTED: “I was in control of my own destiny and didn’t have it this week,” said Spieth, the only player from the top 10 in the world who won’t be at East Lake. It didn’t help that Spieth, for the second straight season, sat out the entire fall portion of the PGA Tour schedule. Setting him back even further was missing nearly an entire month with mononucleosis. That means he will fall short of the minimum 25 tournaments required for those who didn’t add to the schedule an event they haven’t played in four years. Still to be determined is the punishment. This policy falls under a “major penalty,” which comes with at least a $20,000 fine and a suspension of more than three tournaments, although the commissioner has the ultimate say and any suspension will not be in play.
