Adams Golf (ADGF: NASDAQ) has introduced what its calling a premium lineup of products that include the Insight Tech a4 Driver and Hybrid-Fairway Wood, the Idea Tech a4 Hybrids and Forged Irons. The Insight Tech a4 Driver has been in the bag of many PGA Tour professionals this summer as the 9015D prototype, Adams said and earned its first win on Tour in July at the U.S. Bank Championship in Milwaukee, Wisc.
According to the company, the development of this product began through consultation and testing with the Long Drivers of America in an effort to produce a driver built with an emphasis on distance. A 15-gram external weight is positioned on the rear sole to promote optimal launch conditions.
"This driver appeals to the long drivers, tour pros and the recreational golfer, all of which are looking for more distance, straighter shots and better feel and sound," said Scott Burnett, senior design engineer of Adams Golf metal woods. "It was in play on tour much earlier than we expected and the word spread quickly in the locker room that we had something very special. When we saw the great results and heard the tremendous feedback we moved quickly to bring this product to the consumer."
By utilizing internal heel-toe weighting and Boxer shaping technology, the Insight Tech a4 Hybrid-Fairway Wood delivers maximum MOI, according to Adams, that's 20% higher than conventional fairway woods. The maraging steel face is 12% thinner than stainless steel and achieves higher ball speeds and greater distance, according to the company. It has a 33% larger face area than most conventional fairway woods, the company said but its sole camber is similar to those fairway woods which helps reduce turf interaction for better contact.
Adams Golf developed the Idea Tech a4 Hybrids
and Forged Irons to appeal to the needs of better
or aspiring players. The two hybrids feature the
Boxer Technology shaping, built with a high-strength,
maraging steel face for a hotter ball flight, according
to the company. It comes with an adjustable sole
weight screw for swing weight adjustments also.
The Idea Tech a4 Forged Irons have a four-way
cambered sole design intended to reduce head rotation
but enhance workability. A quad-cavity back design
pushes weight to the perimeter for added forgiveness, Adams said, while a forged stabilizer bar in the cavity gives the golfer incredible feel and feedback.
"The Idea Tech a4 Hybrid Iron set is a world-class product that will appeal to a wide range of players, including the game's best like Rory Sabbatini, Brad Bryant, and Tommy Gainey to name a few," said Michael Vrska, senior design engineer in a prepared statement. "We spared nothing when we designed this set and our expertise in hybrid iron set technology is definitely on display the first time you hit these clubs - there's nothing out there that will match the performance, playability and appearance of this set."
The Insight Tech a4 Driver and Hybrid Fairway Woods features a Matrix Ozik shaft with a MSRP of $499.99 and $369.99, respectively. The Idea Tech a4 Hybrids feature the Mitsubishi Javln FX shaft with a MSRP of $249.99. The Idea Tech a4 Irons include the True Temper Dynamic Gold SL steel shaft with a SRP of $899.99 or the Matrix Studio graphite shaft with a SRP of $1099.99. These products will begin shipping Oct. 1.
Adams Golf isn’t stopping here when it comes to new products. It also introduced the new Idea Tech a4OS Hybrid Irons and the Insight Tech a4OS Driver and Hybrid-Fairway Woods.
The Idea Tech a4OS set features 3-PW
that include seven hybrids. The 3, 4 and 5
hybrids are designed with perimeter tungsten
weighting and Boxer Technology. These Boxer
hybrids are built with a magnesium crown
that's 77% lighter than stainless steel, Adams
said, and allows for the saved weight to be
redistributed for a lower CG. The 6, 7, 8 and
9 hybrids include the same perimeter
tungsten weighting as well as added weight
in the back sole to promote ideal launch
conditions. A Thermoplastic Urethane
(TPU) insert reduces vibration by 30%, according
to the company, for enhanced the feel and responsiveness.
"We have a very successful and solid history of developing hybrid iron sets for the game improvement category and the Idea Tech a4OS is our very best effort so far that gives a majority of golfers that competitive advantage they've looked for through multi-material and high-tech construction," said Tim Reed, vice president of Research and Development.
Providing women golfers with the same technology and materials found in the men's sets, Adams Golf created the Idea Tech a4OS Hybrid Iron set for women. The eight-piece, 4-SW set includes seven hybrids and with specific tooling for women golfers along with lighter weights, different lie and loft angles and shorter shaft lengths.
Adams Golf has added the Insight Tech a4OS Driver and Hybrid-Fairway Wood to its growing portfolio of product offerings. Both have the same Boxer Technology found in the company's Idea hybrids and mult-material design of the Idea Tech a4OS Hybrid Irons.
The crown is made from magnesium and said to be 30% lighter than titanium, according to Adams, which helps to distribute the weight to the rear perimeter.
The Insight Tech a4OS Hybrid-Fairway Wood
also features the same Boxer Technology of
the company's hybrids. The lightweight crown,
constructed of magnesium, in this case is said
to be 75% lighter than titanium and combined
with tungsten weight inserts, helps distribute the
weight to the rear perimeter. The stock shaft
offering for the Idea Tech a4OS Hybrids is the
Graphite Design Tour AD YSQ-HL in standard
and regular flex. The MSRP for the individual
hybrids is $249.99.
The Idea Tech a4OS Hybrid Iron set comes available with the Graphite Design Tour AD YSQ-HL graphite shafts or the True Temper GS75 steel shaft option. The MSRP for all graphite set is $999.99 and $899.99 for steel. The Idea Tech a4OS Women's set is available with a 50-gram Graphite Design shaft with an MSRP of $999.99.
