Home MONEY TO SPARE:

Charity begins at home, is a thought many people subscribe to, perhaps more so in challenging times. However, that doesn’t apply in all instances. The FBR Open hosts, The Thunderbirds, announced it will distribute a PGA Tour record $8,652,542 million to hundreds of charities through proceeds raised from the 2008 tournament, Thunderbirds Big Chief Tim Louis announced at the 2009 FBR Open Tee Off Luncheon.
The $8,652,542 million in charitable donations is $800,000 more than The Thunderbirds and FBR Open donated following the tournament in 2007 ($7.8 million).
