Nickent is borrowing a page from the auto industry. No, it isn’t looking for a hand out from Uncle Sam, even though it likely wouldn’t be refused if it were to appear. The equipment company has an aggressive offer to accept back some of its older product and apply a credit to a new purchase. So for “loyal” customers they can receive a trade in credit of $100 on an older Nickent Ironwood and apply it to the new 5DX Ironwood . Now the deal has a limit time offer (December 23, 2008) but the really odd part is that the company just introduced the new 5DX version and said it will sell for $199. Why not price it at $99 to begin with an open it up to anyone and everyone? Might be a cleaner way to accomplish success...
