Now golf fans or simply collectors have a chance to claim a piece of the iconic and world renowned Turnberry Hotel. The contents of it are to be sold at McTear’s on January 10, 2009, with the entire net proceeds going to local charity.
In advance of the 138th Open Championship, to be held on the Ailsa Course at Turnberry in July, the iconic Turnberry hotel is undergoing a multi-million pound refurbishment to restore it to its former glory. As a result, many traditional furnishings, fixtures, pictures and memorabilia from the famous corridors, public rooms and bedrooms of the Turnberry hotel will go under the hammer in Glasgow.
