Home TIGER JUST DID IT!

So Tiger Woods’ golf game isn’t as bad off as some people were thinking. Woods’ putter actually was being singled out as holding his game back, if you can call it that. A quick recap of the FedEx Cup playoffs sees the world’s #1 player finish in a tie for second place at the Barclays. Good enough for $465,000. Then he slumped to a tie for 11th at the Deutsche Bank, which is when the muttering over the state of his game began to pick up. Still he collected $165,000 for the effort. Then at last week’s BMW he silenced the critics yet once again by coming out on top. This time the bank account swelled by $1.35 million. Yes, Tiger’s golf game is affected as much as his income has been by the recession. He has won six times already in 2009 and earned nearly $9.7 million in the 16 events he has teed it up in. By contrast he won four times in 2008 out of the six events he entered. Remember his knee got in the way last year and he was forced to have surgery. Meanwhile, his season didn’t start until March this year due to the recovery time needed or there is no telling what he might have accomplished.
So what did he do differently last week versus the weeks before? “Not a thing. I didn't change anything,” he replied. “If you would have asked me at the beginning of the year, any of you guys probably wouldn't have predicted I would have had a year like I did; to be as consistent as I have been this year, I'm very proud of that,” Woods added, perhaps dispelling the tongue waging over his balky putter. “I've been extremely consistent all year, Top 10'd just about every week I played and obviously had six wins. To come off a knee surgery and to have this type of year, and as I said, to be this consistent is something that I'm very proud of.”
Anyone want to bet against him winning the playoffs and the added $10 million that goes with it?
