Sometimes you can tell the health of a business by its business partners. The PGA TOUR has done a remarkable job at maintaining the level of prize money that is available each week. Its also been resilient at maintaining and attracting new sponsors through the economic tsunami that hit in 2008. It continues to thrive in ways many other businesses wish that they could. It recently entered into seven new domestic and three new international licensing agreements, which indicates the pulse of its brand is still vibrant.

"We are thrilled to have these new licensees on board with the PGA TOUR," said Tim Hawes, Senior Vice President of Retail Licensing for the PGA TOUR. "We strive to associate with the brands and products that are relevant to our fans and these new partnerships certainly speak to how our brand continues to grow worldwide."  

Among its domestic licensees is Alex & Ani is an eco-friendly jewelry design company which has collaborated with the PGA TOUR to create exclusive pieces for consumers that  it says encapsulate the energy of golf. Another is Baden Sports, which is the supplier of large rubber golf balls for autograph. Designs by Chad & Jake, another new licensee, is the product of two parents’ creative collaboration of a wide range of gifts for babies and kids, focusing on quality classic items that can be passed down from generation to generation. Survival Straps is said to be the hottest trend accessory with 100% practical use. It has boasts bracelets and gear to help you survive whatever life throws at you, which would seem to have some synergies with the PGA TOUR!  

St. Andrews Products is an independently owned company located in Michigan City, Ind., which has been serving the golf industry since 1984. It features patented E2 technology in apparel items for golf, a power and balance technology that is effective in the sun and does not wash out or dissipate over time.
Travis Mathew is a progressive golf apparel brand providing an exclusive PGA TOUR line of lifestyle wear and accessories and is another that has become a PGA TOUR licensee. Vineyard vines, known for its neckties and smiling pink whale logo, was founded in 1998 on Martha’s Vineyard when brothers Shep and Ian Murray cut their ties with corporate America to start making ties that represented The Good Life. 

On the international side, the new licensees are MST Golf is said to be the largest retail chain and service provider to the golf industry in South East Asia, with 54 stores across four markets: Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. The company tagline is “Everything Golf” covering all aspects of the industry; retail, wholesale, corporate merchandise, event management, technical fitting, golf academies, driving range management, golf vacations, golf café and a loyalty program with over 38,000 members.

Osung Umbrella is considered one of the leading companies in the umbrella and glove industry in Korea. With the company philosophy, “reliable company through excellent product,” Osung Umbrella will develop and deliver unique and durable PGA TOUR branded umbrellas and gloves to Korean customers. 

NU Inc. is a global company based in Taiwan with branches in the United States and the Netherlands. Its mission is to lead the industry in providing digital consumer products with more trendy design and user-friendly function to enrich future digital life. Somewhat vague in description but specifically for the PGA TOUR, a series of digital golf products have been developed.
