Home Fowler had a hunch

Rickie Fowler has a funny feeling about his chances at making the 2012 Ryder Cup team. “Yeah, with the way I played the last two weeks I definitely felt like I was kind of on the outside looking in,” he said. “I knew

if I was going to be picked, it would be obviously not off of recent play, (but) off of my play earlier this year.” With many more possibilities in his future, Fowler seemed to handle the news well. “I know that with the picks, he obviously went with some guys that have been there, guys that are playing well right now, which I completely understand. I’m just look forward to moving on in the FedExCup Playoffs and looking forward to the next Ryder Cup,” he said. Perhaps the blow was softened somewhat when comparing his situation to Hunter Mahan’s. “With Hunter just missing out on points, it's a tough position to be in.  I know him and I both didn't play as well as we would have liked to the last couple weeks. It seems like Davis definitely went off the two guys that were playing well, and with the other two spots being the veteran picks, just there's certain guys that have to be left out, and just happened to be Hunter and I.”
