Michael Thompson recorded his first top-10 in five starts in 2013 in style. Despite missing three of his previous four cuts this season coming into last week (T78/Farmers Insurance Open), he won the Honda Classic. Golf can often be described as a game of mystery as Thompson finished last in the field at the Northern Trust Open with rounds of 78-80 before taking a week off. His first PGA TOUR win came playing a PING i20 9.5°, 45", Aldila Tour Green 65-X shaft, G25 3-wood (15°), 42.5" with a ProLaunchRed Fwy-X shaft, Akira #5 wood with Prolaunch Red Fwy-x shaft. He relied on PING S56 irons (3-9) +1/2", True Temper Dynamic Gold X100 shafts along with PING Tour-S (47°),+1/2", PING Anser Forged (52°, 58°),+1/2", also with Dynamic Gold X100 shafts. Thompson used Golf Pride Tour Velvet grips on his driver, fairway, hybrid and irons. He won playing the PING Anser 4 and the Titleist Pro V1x (2013) He also wore FJ ICON golf shoes, Ashworth apparel and a StaSof glove.

TaylorMade-adidas Tour Staff professional Dawie Van Der Walt won the inaugural Tshwane Open for his first career European Tour win Sunday. The 30-year-old journeyman from South Africa relied on TaylorMade’s R1 Driver (Oban Kiyoshi 75 X), RBZ Stage 2 Tour 14.5° fairway (Oban Kiyoshi 85 X), RBZ Stage 2 Tour 18.5° Rescue (Oban Kiyoshi 100 S), RocketBladez Tour irons (3-PW). He played Vokey Design SM4 pitching (48°), gap (52°), sand (56°) and lob (60°) wedges and a Scotty Cameron Select Newport 2.6 putter. Van Der Walt also won using Golf Pride Tour Velvet grips on his clubs. His golf ball of choice was the TaylorMade Lethal golf ball and he adidas Golf adiPURE footwear. 

Patrick Cantlay, who turns 21 years old in two weeks, won the Colombia Championship on the Web.com Tour Sunday. Cantlay won with the help of Titleist as he used the Pro V1x golf ball, 910D3 driver, 712U 3-iron, AP2 irons, Vokey Design wedges, Scotty Cameron GSS prototype putter. Like Michael Thompson and Dawie Van Der Walt, Cantlay also used Golf Pride Tour Velvet grips on his clubs. He also wore FJ ICON golf shoes in his victory.
